Green logistics and sustainable development in emerging areas of international symposium was held successfully

September 5 to 6, University of Bremen in Germany, Bremen Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) and Shanghai Maritime University, China-U.S. Research Institute of Shipping Economics (CURISE) of Shanghai International Shipping Institute co-sponsored held a two-days “Green Logistics and Emerging Areas of Sustainable development” international symposium. From Bremen University, Shanghai Maritime University, Shanghai International Shipping Institute, Dalian Maritime University, Hunan University, Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Administrative Committee, Bank, COSCO Group, China Shipping Group, Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone and other enterprise 50 representatives attended the meeting.

Shanghai Maritime University Yan Wei professor, Deputy Consul General of Germany in Shanghai Mr. Stefan Moebs representing the Shanghai Maritime University and the German was welcome to the participant’s guests. University of Bremen, Haze Si professor described the important significance of this conference as the German organizers, and made a “Energy efficiency and effectiveness through green logistics” speech. As Chinese organizers, Shanghai Maritime University professor Sha Mei had made a “Simulation modeling for planning and operations management for container terminal” report. As guest, Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Administrative Committee deputy director Xu Dazhen had made a “Cluster management of shipping service industry at Lujiazui Finance & Trade Zone of Shanghai” report.

In addition, Bremen University and ISL Dr. Hendrick Professor, Zhao Dong professor and Dr. Irina professor delivered speech on traffic congestion, the development of logistics parks and cluster management. Shanghai Maritime University, Professor Liu Hong, Hunan University, Professor Deng Aimin, Dalian Maritime University, Professor Yang Hualong, Bank Dr. Wu Jianhuan were around the low-carbon shipping, intelligent transportation, harbor logistics, shipping financial markets and other theme made a report. Participants said the meeting will be an opportunity to promote communication and cooperation between Chinese and German in the future in logistics, ports and shipping.

After the meeting, Professor Houhazesi, made a special trip to visit Shanghai International Shipping Center, the two sides will explore in the future to carry out a series of research and training programs of cooperation.
